What being aN SLP of the 21st Century means to me:

Incorporate new technology: ipad, sEMG, PENS, Computer programs/websites

Work in tandem with other professionals: social workers, O.T, P.T, other SLP's, Teachers(reg/spec.).

Be supportive of other cultures and belifs: Being open to new ideas, being non bias towards differences.

Parent/Family Coaching and empathy: incorporating families, having sympathy and understanding

Sharing of knowledge: Sharing resources and ideas, knowing when to ask for help, collaborate with others on ideas/techniques.

Multimodal teaching techniques- verbal, tactile, visual and auditory cues.
Artifacts
In each of these three wonderful experiences, I was able to learn and grow as a 21st century clincian. I've worked across the lifespan, with multiple disabilties that ranged from mild-moderate and had to collobrate with other professionals in order for client to reach their highest maximum potential.

(Pope John Paul)- Orange NJ- Sept 2015-Dec 2015 Treated geriatric population of cognition, swallowing, voice, aluency and speech language disorders. Performed cogni- tive and swallowing evaluations. planned therapy to meet patients needs, and co-treated with patients along- side OT, PT, RT.
Saint Barnabas Medical Center

Speech Therapy Center,Livingston NJ January 2016-may 2016 Treated pediatric clients from EI population, school aged children, and geriatric population. Duties in- cluded language evaluations, speech screenings alongside report writing, planning therapy session, selecting age appropriate activities and treating populations across all 9 domains. Observed their crania-facial clinic twice a month and worked in tandem with the craniofacial team to evaluate and plan for clients.
